Cotton Handkerchiefs

Cotton handkerchiefs with character – small gesture, big impact!

There are things that quietly tell stories: a delicate greeting, a loving detail, an accessory that lasts. Our cloth handkerchiefs are just such little ambassadors. Made of soft, durable cotton, they feature charming motifs for sea lovers, heart motifs for weddings, motifs for nature lovers, or dog owners. Each handkerchief tells its own story.

A cotton handkerchief is more than just practical - it's a living example of sustainability. You're choosing a long-lasting companion instead of a disposable item. In doing so, you're contributing to an environmentally conscious everyday life and preserving a piece of forgotten etiquette that's regaining importance today: the small, delicate detail that demonstrates style.

Are cotton handkerchiefs hygienic?

Yes, if you take care of them properly!

When washed regularly, they're just as hygienic as paper tissues. Simply throw them in the washing machine at 40–60°C, add a mild detergent, let them air dry, and iron them – and the germs will be gone. The important thing is: wash and iron regularly! This way, the tissues stay clean and you're doing something good for the environment at the same time.

Are cotton handkerchiefs more environmentally friendly than paper handkerchiefs?

Absolutely! Paper tissues end up in the trash after one use and are often made of wood, which is harmful to the environment. Cloth tissues, on the other hand, can be used again and again – for years . This saves a lot of waste and they're also much gentler on your skin. So if you want to protect the environment and your nose, opt for a cloth tissue instead.

How do you wash and care for cotton handkerchiefs?

Very uncomplicated!

Wash the handkerchiefs at 40-60°C with a mild detergent – preferably with similar colors. Avoid using fabric softener, as it makes the tissues less absorbent. Then simply let them air dry and iron. Done.

Wash new handkerchiefs first!
Only after the first wash are they really soft and absorbent.

Which material is best?

Cotton!

It's soft, skin-friendly, thin, and absorbent. Fine cloth handkerchiefs are usually made of cotton batiste - and have been for decades.

How many handkerchiefs do I need?

It depends on how often you blow your nose.

For colds or allergies: 3-5 wipes a day.

In everyday life without a cold: 1 wipe per day.

Important: When you have a cold, you should change your handkerchiefs more often and wash them promptly to keep them hygienic.
